If you've studied evolution, you know that not only is it improbable that we are the only intelligent life in the universe - it is really self-centered. If you've studied history, you know that people used to think we were the center of the solar system, and that later was proven incorrect and now we laugh at the mere notion.

But thinking that we are alone in the universe is the same exact mindset.

With that said, the recent rise in alien abduction reports has given way to many questions about the very foundation of our beliefs and traditions. If we aren't alone and these alien abduction reports are true - religion and our conception of man's origin and role in the universe is drastically changed. It would truly be life shattering.

But are these alien abduction reports true?

The cynics out there argue that it's all mental and hallucinated. I argue logically that even though some of these cases may be this way, the sheer amount combined with the rational thought of probability that we aren't alone tells me intuitively that it can't all be a hoax.
